Weak as FUCK compared to the first 3 albums. Like a HUGE huge downgrade. HOWEVER this is still really damn good and I love everything here. Great album even if underwhelming compared to the previous albums.

My favourite is Awake, but I agree: When Dream and Day Unite is one DT's very best albums, criminally underrated.

Yes, also the tracks are some of the best dt have ever written in their entire career. I didn't know Dominici's solo project, but I'm going to listen to that. Thanks

The only issue I have with this album is the presence of "You Not Me", which once I thought that was the worst thing DT ever recorded due to the forced radio-friendly chorus. But on the other side, this album has some of the best songs they ever released, like "New Millennium", "Peruvian Skies", "Lines in the Sand" (my favorite track here) and "Trial of Tears". It really is criminally underrated.

Decent album, but almost all the demo versions of these songs destroy the final versions. I'll make a possible exception for "Lines in the Sand", which benefits from Doug Pinnick's guest spot. LaBrie's vocals seem better and more soulful on the demos too.

New Millenium, Hell's Kitchen + Lines in the Sand, Take Away my Pain and Trial of Tears are some of my favorite DT songs. This album rocks! This album is also one in which Myung plays assertively. I love the bass equalization on this album, esp in New millenium (chapman stick), hell's kitchen and lines in the sand and trial of tears.

The first DT album i ever heard. I love it, brings me back a lot of memories ! Fuck, the transition between "Hell's Kitchen" and "Lines in the Sand is beyond perfection !

one of their best albums. 3 or 4 tracks might be the worst songs they ever wrote, but everything else, especially trial of tears and hell's kitchen, more than make up for it.

this album is one of the many sides that DT have to. I appreciate the effort that they had to do because the label was so fucking shit...can you imagine??? the label need "hits" from DT, the label need "short songs" from DT...i think this kind of people dont care about music...is just a business!! Well..If anyone want to see a review of this album, visit my blog: pasadomus.blogspot.com and if you'll like to learn Burning my soul on the guitar, visit my channel: youtube.com/user/pasadomus. Good Album, at first I never bothered listening to it because I had heard so many bad things about it, but after a few listens I started to love it especially "Just Let Me Breathe" "Peruvian Skies" and "Hell's Kitchen"[2] Sometimes I think bands are too hard on themselves. This is no exception. Sure, it was geared toward a more commercial audience, but it is one of my favorite DT albums. It's accessible, heavy, charming, and can make me bang my head on one song, and cry on another. It is very over-looked and under-appreciated.[2] Translation into my feelings =)
