Magnificent song. The strings and Petrucci's guitar-playing perfectly compliment LaBrie's gentle voice. The Emerson-like keyboards are also quite awesome.

I'm glad that people are voicing their dissatisfaction with this song as the closer. It lets me know in advance that we could never have anything in common, and that I should never invite them over for tea, for I'd likely splash the beverage right in their face for being short-sighted in what they believe is a good way to end an album.

Could the keyboard solo be a reference to 'Lucky Man' by 'Emerson, Lake & Palmer'?

ok FUCK i thought dt were losing inspiration and creativity, i still don't like the whole album so much... but this song is amazing, holy crap one of their best ballads ever. just try to imagine a dream theater concert the size of wembley stadium, and this song sung along with all the crowd... god i think this could be a masterpiece.

Great way to end the album. Wish it had a little bit more to it, but it's definitely fitting :D

This song leaves you without words. [2] I had to listen this again immediately after hearing it once.

The only thing i do not like about this song is the keyboard solo. I think it destroys the song. I would not have minded if there were not a solo on this song. Well, after listening to this song for a few times i got used to it, but anyway. Without the solo the song might be better for me. But truley a really good closer for the album.

Something about the line, "And I disappeared into the darkness" in such close proximity to a line like "One day I stopped caring."... damn, Dream Theater. Gave me manly chills.

Uno de los mejores cierres de disco que he escuchado despues de Learning to Live, Octavarium y The Count of Tuscany... <3

Brilliant way to end the album. Especially after the monster that is Breaking All Illusions. [3]
