Amazing! one of the first Dream Theater songs I fell in love with, and also The Ministry of Lost Souls.

One of their best, a really haunting and dwelling vibe. Still, my biggest kudo goes to Steven Wilson on this one. 'So, I wanted to apologize to anyone that I've upset, offended, by my words. It's just an opinion. But unfortunatly, I tend to express it as a fact. That's kind of arrogant.' Holy shit.

"Too long. The first half is good, second is bad." Reverse that. Second half saves the song. Get it? Repentance saves. Right before the end.

"Reminds me of Porcupine Tree. ö.ö" "It is not like a DT stuff, it is like Opeth ft. LaBrie..." [I assume "Damnation", in particular] This is what happens when Steven Wilson gets involved with a prog metal project. Whether you like it or not is up to you.

So, I wanted to apologize to anyone that I've upset or offended.. by my words, it's just an opinion, but unfortunately, I tend to express it as a fact, and that's kind of arrogant. Isn't it? I agree with Steven's appologie...I 've done that as well...and I am still doing it sometimes...I am sorry...

I agree with most of you, very Opeth-ish, but I don't agree with the ones that say that it's too long, hey, you are listening to DT, the ones who have a song that lasts 45 minutes xD

Severely underrated. You people complaining about the length obviously don't listen to much prog. This beats 5 mins of unnecessary instrumental wankery any day.

Nah dude, this is the strongest point of the Suite because it's like Portnoy's putting all this to an end and it really feels like an ending. The Shattered Fortress is just an epilogue.

I totally agree with Vldmrhrnndz: It's impossible to make unique music that wouldn't resemble anything. And I'd guess they've gotten some of their inspiration from Opeth. It should be seen as an expression of respect. The whole Octavarium also has Pink Floyd references here and there. It's just great they've made a song with Opetish sounds 'cause the results are pretty impressive!

Well it does sound kinda opethish to me, and I don't care, probably this happened for touring together for so long they have influenced eachother... Let's be open and don't bash cause everybody has influence on everybody...

Hello Steven, I love your incredible British accent in your speaking part. Just so you know. And I love DT for making this a calm, not-full-of-rage-and-agression song.
