Biography

This multi-talented musician and performer from Buffalo, NY decided post graduation of college, that he was ready to take his musical career to the next level. With a degree in Music Industry, at the age of 22, Ryan had managed the careers of three different bands, independently released two records, and booked himself over 100 shows around the United States; including an EP release in Buffalo, NY which raised over $20,000 for Brain Cancer research at Roswell Park Cancer Research and Treatment facility.
He decided then to pack up his guitars, hit the road to tour the West coast, and make a new record. He landed in Santa Monica, CA in February 2010. Upon his arrival, Ryan booked himself a regional tour, found a backing band, and began recording his newest tracks at Yucca Productions Studios in Topanga Canyon, CA.
An avid observer of emotion, human interaction, and world politics, Ryan finds inspiration in places few may tend to look. Moved by experiences living in Cape Town, South Africa, New York City, and Boston, Ryan captures these encounters in his music. Like his travels, Ryan explores the poignancy in his personal life. His lyrics allude to the mental quandaries surrounding his Father’s recent diagnosis of brain cancer, the unplanned pregnancy of an ex-girlfriend, and the plight of an artist pursuing his passion for music, while far away home. Ryan tries to grasp the meaning of his former years that have brought him to this point in life, and calls on listeners to hear his explanation in the music.
Drew Ryan will be touring nationally in support of his latest release on August 28th 2010. Cleverly titled “three.” , this is Ryan’s third independent release.
