Biography
Duo Oszedo is a musical project based in Austria. The experimental duo started to record in early 2007 and consists of band members Wolfgang Reichmann and Lucas van Leiden (last.fm users recitator and elkulte).
Because the two live in different cities, they cannot rely on typical recording-procedures. That's why the Duo thought up their own technique: Each member records 15 loops in a pre-decided theme, tempo and key. From those 30 samples they produce 2 different tracks, marked with either an L (Lucas) or a W (Wolfgang) at the end, to tell them apart. For example Sticks W and Nichts weiter L.
The first three/six tracks were collected on the self-titled album duo oszedo. Those early tracks were followed by the uptempo songs of sticks and stones and the downtempo funk album. With the two recent 2008 releases stop running in circles and do you oszedo? the Duo keeps on exploring the possibilities of the specific Oszedo way of recording and tries to establish a recognizable and unique style to reach a wider audience.
After almost 6 months Duo Oszedo returned in early 2009 with a new release named contact us for disappointment, featuring exclusive cover artwork by Daluxe. The album follows up to the underrated do you oszedo? and the well received recording experiment the puffy shirt.
