This one and Thank Heaven for Little Girls are awesome. Blood Guts & Pussy is deservedly hailed as a classic and beloved as a ridiculously catchy, just as ridiculously vulgar slab of hardcore punk, but its two successors are nearly in the same league.

Over the years I've come to appreciate this one even more than Thank Heaven. The guitars on this one are so loud and NASTY, really just about to the level that they were pumped up and dirtied up on Blood Guts & Pussy. Listen to the tone on, say, "Smack City." You'll feel like you need a shower after that one. And Blag's lyrics are quite good this time out, as in the aforementioned "Smack City" where he takes digs at their label Sub Pop and the various Seattle bands' affinity for heroin. Then there's opener "Anybody Out There," where the protagonist sounds anxious and desperate, crying out for help to anyone who'll listen. Instead of coming off cheesy or phony, it rings true and feels powerful thanks to Blag's great lyrics and vocals and the song's awesome melody. "New Orleans" is another godlike scummy riff from the masters of coming up with 'em, and "Underworld" is just as good if not better. I can never get enough of this band and their proclivity for catchy, tough sounding Punk.
