See this album he gave me...? Well, it still plays away... the days I'm claiming back for me

Good to see the love for the album in here. I'd probably also be dead if it wasn't for Eels and Electro-Shock Blues in particular.

one of the best albums ever made. and I'm not even a particularly big Eels fan. But this album ... wow

See, I think Everett is a great example of an artist that knows how to write about really sad stuff in a very real way, and yet always leaves room for an underlying sense of romance and optimism (which more explicitly surfaces on tracks like Last Stop: This Town, P.S. You Rock my World, Beautiful Freak, etc. - even though they all still also deal with crushingly sad things)

Amazing album, even though it's depressing as hell. P.S. You Rock My World is a perfect closer, though.

I used to write lyrics from this album on my shoes when I was a freshman in high school

The tagssss ? Two of the best songs here have the least plays damnit. Best 'eels' album by some margin. And he did this when he was having a really bad time! Troubled minds produce the best art.

Not even halfway through my first listen and I'm in love. Glad I didn't start with this Eels' album though, it would make everything else look bad.

There's some big songs on this album: Last Stop: this town, Climbing to the Moon, 3 Speed, Dead of Winter. It's definitely the eels masterpiece. Blinking Lights is very close to being it. Still sounds fresh today. Hospital Food reminds of Tom Waits alot. My love for this album will never wear off.

I always reach for Daisies and Souljacker first, as I don't feel right listening to this one in pieces. ESB is not a collection of singles as much as it is a full album, and I simply have to experience it all the way through.

Maybe you're just naiive about how philosophical you presume yourself to be. Your analogy blows, so don't associate it with this album. Infinity cubed... It's just great music. That's all you really need.
