Every time that the narrator begins to see his life more positively, he realizes that there are still too many negatives in his life. This stops him from “falling asleep” and reaching calm. The narrator can’t see the positive in his life despite everyone telling him to relax and “let go.” He takes “letting go” and implies to commit suicide.
