Biography
Eileen 'Eileenio' Lapid Apostol (born 30 December, 1985 in San Diego, California) is a filipina songwriter who currently lives in Manchester, UK. She is fluent in English and Tagalog and can also converse in Italian and French. Her style of songwriting is varied and is reflective of songs she herself finds appealing, although her songwriting idols are Ne-Yo and Mariah Carey. She is currently aspiring to work with up and coming singers who are looking for fresh material.
At the age of 6, Eileenio moved with her family from the US to Milan, Italy. Having studied in a public Italian school for more than two years, she quickly became fluent in Italian and nearly forgot how to speak English in the process. In September 1994, her family moved again - this time to London, England, where she would stay for the next fourteen years. At the age of 9 she started taking piano lessons, and nine years later she passed and completed Grade 8 in Practical Piano. She particularly enjoyed playing easy listening songs from the '40s and jazz piano standards.
In June 2008, the family moved to Paris, France. It was during this time when she started to seriously write and record her own songs. Having bought a new digital piano for the first time, she was able to create sounds and beats from this one instrument. Inspired by this, Eileenio began to write songs in different styles and rhythms and recorded them using nothing but the microphone on her Skype headset.
At present, Eileenio is currently still writing and recording songs, simultaneously seeking artists to work with and write material for.
