A phenomenal master of atonal music. Particularly surprising is the fact that even in old age he only increased the productivity of creating works. However, he failed to overcome the apogee of his own creativity, namely “night fantasies,” and, in general, the thirty-year stage of work from the 50s to the 80s.

yet you can kinda groove to it through the dissonant walls. reminds me of stravinsky in that way though from what ive listened to carter's compositions are quite distinct from stravinsky

it's a shitton of music as well. re-releasing his recorded output (there are some pre-mortem retrospectives that can be drawn on) and supplementing it with new recordings of previously unrecorded works is feasible but would take a number of years, & cash
