@TrendyRechauffe Elvis Costello recorded another version for playing in America for specifically that reason. It's just as sharp in wit and flows as well. If you can find the Live at El Mocambo version, check it out. It's fantastic.

The novel wasn't long, there were parts that tore my heart out. The movie was great though.

When I was young and dumb I thought this was a conspiracy song about JFK--before I knew "Oswald" was "Oswald Mosley." Still, a sublime combination of pitch black wit and radio friendly hooks.

I'm sorry ladies and gentlemen, there's no need to do this song here. *plays Radio Radio instead*

This un came from a great point in time for me: Disco dying, music making a comeback! Sorry disco lovers - while the R&B that started disco was great, the pap that was in the clubs near the end was .... well, pap at the point Elvis helped turn things back around.

I think this is probably the best pop song that could be reasonably considered libel.

I can't believe this song doesn't have more comments than it does. It's a fantastic song from one of the greats.
