Biography
Italian singer and songwriter in traditional music from Salento, southeasternmost part of Italy, leads her voice beyond natural-born social and family environment where she directly heard and spontaneuosly learned real traditional sound.
For over 15 years Enza Pagliara spreads her sound throughout stages in the world singing, with intimate pride, Salento traditions and culture consisting in seranades, legends, epic-lyrical chants, improvised dialouges in form of stornelli and saint's invocatons for healing.
Moreover, in last two decades she is one of the leading actor in Salento and Apulia musical tradition revaluations. Her action consists in evoking remembrance in memories keepers and pleasing learning disciples.
Musical traditions survive through ages only if lyrics and instruments renew taking care in keeping on main features make peculiar sources and extractions.
This is "Bona creanza" (good manners) project aim for musical tradition renewing: melting instruments of 'banda', brass band for classical and melodrama repertoire characteristic of Italian southern regions mainly in Apulian area, and other instruments coming from entire world played by local righteous musicians.
