Fatboy Slim, real name Norman Cook, was actually born in Bromley and raised in Reigate, Surrey, but moved to Brighton when he began his career as an electronic musician. He famously played a 90 minute set for some 250,000 ravers on Brighton Beach in 2002, leading police to ban him from performing publicly in the city until 2006.
