Biography

Fateborn was formed in January 2004 by the guitarists: Kamil Tynecki and Piotr Gęca. Although the two are deep-rooted in the genre of industrial death-metal, they decided to distance themselves from their former projects and embark on something stylistically different.

Soon, they started cooperation with Radek Grygiel, a drummer with similar death metal experience. The next to join the band was the bassist Emil Socha, and, eventually, the vocalist, Bartek Ziemba.

After a fairly short time, Fateborn managed to prepare their first material and entered the studio. During the recording sessions, the band gave their first live performance. At the concert that took place on 12 Sept 2004 in “Hades” Club in Lublin, Fateborn shared the stage with 3 local groups: Bimbeer, Coffins and El Chupacabra. The enthusiastic reaction to Fateborn’s music proved inspiring and encouraged the band to proceed with the recording.

Nevertheless, as a result of serious differences in opinion concerning the band’s future, Emil (the bassist) left Fateborn. Despite the temporary vacancy, the band carried on.

Although the whole process of recording took only fifty hours, Fateborn left the studio in December. Already with the new bassist, Grzegorz Maleszewski, the band gave another performance, in “No Mercy” Club in Chełm on 19 Feb 2005. As a result of the explosive show and very warm response of the public, Fateborn was invited to steal the scene again at Merciless East Festival in August 2005.

Because of the studio’s tight schedule, the final mixing of the debut material has taken longer than expected but was eventually finished in March 2005. The final effect of the work was entitled Breathing. It contains 7 songs which can be described as a hybrid of thrash metal and hard-core.

Currently, the band is promoting and distributing their material independently. It is interested in cooperation with a local or foreign music label.
