Biography

Tim Shiel, also known as Faux Pas, is a producer based in Melbourne. Working primarily with virtual instruments, he builds intricate sonic worlds that combine synthetic and organic elements. He is consistently inspired by the "possibilities" of "sound" and the challenge of musically articulating his own "intense emotional trajectories."

Faux Pas was also a hardcore/metal band from a Mugla, Turkey. The band performed numerous shows and recorded two demos before splitting in 2002. Two of the band's former members accordingly transferred to the sky we scrape, a post-rock band in istanbul.

Faux Pas is also an all girl rock group hailing from Greensburg, PA. They formed in 1998 and have since recorded 3 albums, "Kicking It Live from the Slab," "Gothic New Year's Fluffy," and "I Like Boys." Rachel Anton plays guitar and Tessa Barber plays bass.

Faux Pas was also a softcore band from Tri-Cities, WA, notable for the inclusion of member Ryan Phillips, later a member of Seattle band Crystal Skulls.

Faux Pas is the alias of a Drum and Bass artist located in Minneapolis Minnesota; currently unsigned. Producing unnamed since early 2009, the many progressive styles of the artist have been slowly discovered and continue to change as the underground electronic community continues to take the genre to new levels.

Faux Pas (Denmark) was formed in 2001 by band members, Martin and Jakob. Shortly hereafter, joined by Kristian and Allan. Their debut EP, "Interested/Interesting", was released in November, 2004. The single, "When The Music's Loud Enough (We Won't Hear The World Fall Apart)", reached the no. 1 spot on Danish national radio's, Det Elektriske Barometer - a hitlist decided by the listeners. Another song, "La faite comme ca", was used as theme music for a documentary on Danish national television. After many a gig throughout the winter of 2004, and spring of 2005, Faux Pas played at the Roskilde Festival (Denmark's biggest festival) the same year. (http://www.myspace.com/fauxpasdk)
