"After a barren number of years something in my waters is telling me that England could be about to leave us with a raft of vital new bands. Hope so, its just not fair leaving Sweden and the States with such a ridiculous burden. The first shaft of light comes from London 4-piece Fez who along with their 2nd hand eBay acquired equipment have amassed a tiny set of sparkling tunes. Said tunes arrived in my inbox about 24 hours ago and instantly set an overfed pulse racing. Fez’s in your face approach provides nothing more than an uncomplicated delight. Happy music for happy people as someone famous from Glasgow once said via a loud guitar." http://mp3hugger.com/2010/01/fez-lowlight.html

"It is great to hear about bands who have formed out of strong friendships and manage to translate that in to a strong musical output and the guys in Fez are able to take an idea in to the practice room and bash it in to shape, without egos being crushed or friendships being broken. The delivery of their music, which reminds me of the New Wave bands of the late ’70s and early ’80s is characterized by rolling drums and double time guitar chords offset by a distinctive vocal. Much of the music is played in the upper guitar range with the two guitars echoing chords from each other, which creates an urgency that is counter balanced by the rolling drum, which will suddenly bounces to a strong beat duet with the bass. The construction of the songs is tight and through the layers of guitar and vocal, this is music which demands attention." http://www.indiebandsblog.com/european-bands/uk-bands/fez

"British guitar pop music is never something I've been a huge fan of; I like it when it finds me, but I never find myself making a conscious effort to actually hunt it down or listen to it, let alone buy it. Fez (or their latest recordings) are currently in the process forcing me to rethink, and for that reason, they are definitely a first for me in that sense. They draw elements of all the bands who have gone before them, and although none of what they make is particularly original, it is made in such good spirits and to such a high standard that where their influences lie becomes irrelevant. The squealing post-punk guitars and charismatic four-part vocals make for an interesting compilation of the best bits of The Maccabees, Talking Heads and even more modern contemporaries such as The Courteeners. From what I can gather they formed in 2005 and are currently based in London - they are not currently signed and have a fairly limited future gig schedule, but with the creation of a new myspace, a set of new tracks and some new-found internet buzz Fez could be a potential underground indie rock band to make it in 2010." http://thismusicwins.blogspot.com/2010/01/introducing-fez-unsigned.html
