Cool album! They sounded a bit like a mix of Nirvana and NIN here! Mainly Richard Patrick's vocals i think remind me of Cobain's, but musically it's a bit similar to them at times too, definitely more in the NIN territory tho! Don't remember that one later Filter album being nearly as good, but it's been years since i've checked it anyway (The Sun Comes Out Tonight), not bad either, but kinda more generic sounding from what i remember. Might have to give it another listen now that some time has passed, maybe i'd like it better now, might've not been in the right mood then too :/

Even after 15 years this album never seems to get old for me. Last shot is such an epic song also.

I started listening to this band really late (only a little over a year ago) but since I got hooked on Short Bus, this was the first album of theirs I listened to. Even though it isn't really technically accomplished, and some of the lyrics are a bit clunky, I still find myself coming back to this one more frequently than Filter's other albums. It's a combination of the gritty (self-)production and the relentless attack of the heavy industrial guitars, programmed drums, and Patrick's vocals. The two acoustic tracks are a nice touch too.
