Biography
Five8 was created in the summer of 2005[/yearformed in New Delhi. Beginning as a college band at Delhi University, Five8 performed extensively within the Indian college circuit, playing many college shows and competitions. With this impetus, the current line up decided to take the band forward professionally in 2008, consciously writing and performing their own music, with influences ranging from glam rock to soul, progressive music to pop.
Five8’s work resonates through a constantly evolving city life, running parallel and colliding with concrete construction, scorching temperatures, traffic jams, insatiable appetites, and just some plain wishful thinking.
Five8’s music tells their story from within, and by stepping outside of the emerging Indian independent music milieu, using this apparent challenge to create Five8’s unique sound. The band released it's first self-titled EP in September 2010 as a free download (http://five8.in/). Physical copies were also released.
