WHOA I listened to a new song that Dr. Fukk played on his show on That Metal Station. Heavy stuff! Their best since anything off No Place for Disgrace!

Doomsday for the Deceiver is just an incredible album. Such an exceptional juncture of nostalgic heavy metal atmosphere and vocal performance, fantastic musicianship and genuinly heavy as fuck production.

Dreams of Death (the album), I feel would be much better received if only the production wasn't so shit.

if mustaine listen to this band last 2 or 3 albums he's certainly retiring. but as far as I know he doesnt know F&J because he insists in working and defecating through guitar and mouth, thrash need only winners like this band :)

I'm not sure if I wanna get anything beyond No Place for Disgrace. I have noticed a few thrash metal bands fall a part after their 2nd album and even their 1st album. Are they like Overkill and they consistently put out good stuff? Please let me know, I need to know. Thanks!

They've been quite inconsistent. The new one, The End of Chaos is quite good, as is The Cold. Dreams of Death is an interesting concept album based on the song from No Place..., but has bad production. My God and When The Storm Comes Down are decent as well. I'd avoid everything else.

its not a band that played exactly thrash during the 90s, but as far as a band go for experimentalisms and somehow manages to stay true to its roots, this is the best model I can think of (save for Metallica, sorry I'm a fanboy). if you are the thrash-maniac just stay with Overkill, its overall (no pun intended) the best band of the two, but F&J went back to a modern thrash with force since the last albums... and I would recommend at least that you go to Cuatro before abandoning the band.

Why did they re-record "No Place For Disgrace"? There was nothing wrong with the old one. Comparing the new one with the old is one evidence why modern recording technology (pro-tools) sounds like shit. They managed to make the album sound thin/flat and plastic-like. Good thing I can stick to the original.
