Biography
Having already pre-sold 5,000 copies of his debut studio album "Circles & Squares" (out January 2009), Francis Rodino is releasing his unique brand of catchy and contemporary alternative-rock onto the scene.
In 2007, Francis became the first UK male solo artist to achieve a $50,000 album budget through SellaBand, an online music site that encourages a direct relationship between artist and music lover, by investing in the production of an album.
"Circles & Squares" is the product of over a year of emotion and labour. Produced by Steve Bush (Sterophonics, Corrine Bailey Rae), recording started in January 2008 at Rockfield Studios, Wales, and continued through to December at London at Scrub’s Clubhouse and Mark Angelo Studios.
Francis' sound is unmistakable; a fusion of folk, alternative, and modern rock rests at the heart of musical simplicity. His music is powerfully melodic – and memorable – with live performances revealing an intensity that captivates the audience.
His colourful pastiche of chiming guitars, and soulful vocals are uniquely characteristic, and the music relates to people at many levels. In combination with his deeply expressive musicality, Francis Rodino is able to touch a live audience with an ease which is rare and distinctive.
