If this were the 90s everyone would be raving about how amazing this track is. But nowadays any and all bass-heavy EDM winds up getting lumped into the "dubstep" category by both people who love and hate the genre. Yes, most of this album was clearly influenced by dubstep-style beats and rhythms, but this track in particular is one of the few moments in which it doesn't sound ANYTHING like dubstep or even brostep for that matter. Even for the rest of 'Echogenetic', they had enough experience experimenting with the sound in 'Airmech' to know exactly how they wanted this album to sound, and did a fantastic job blending modern EBM with dubstep and actually making it sound good unlike a lot of other bands who have tried this. This is coming from someone who doesn't even like straight-up dubstep. Don't let a misunderstood genre with an obnoxious fanbase taint your opinion of a truly good album by an amazing band. [2]
