This and “If Leaving Me Is Easy” from Face Value are maybe Phil’s best ballads, from the vocal and drumming perspectives. The way his voice carries alongside Mike Rutherford’s tasteful guitar playing is a particular peak of their career as a trio. And Tony Banks’ chords are really what hook me in. Even when I was young and heard so much of Phil solo and Genesis it was hard to sometimes determine which was which but I always knew this was Genesis and looking back it’s definitely because of those chords you’d probably never find on one of his solo albums.

I love this song, even if it was most people's "bathroom break/beer line" song on the tour.

This is my Mom's favorite Genesis song, mine is Supper's Ready. Quite a contrast, no?

Perhaps some of Rutherford's best guitar playing, especially during the bridge,
