Mike Rutherford is a vastly underrated musician. Excellent bass-line and guitar solo in this song.

Much rather hear Gabriel Genesis than Collins. Foxtrot, Nursery, The Lamb are classics

This song is about a failing relationship. The singer feels that no matter how hard he tries, the relationship keeps ending up in the rut: "It's always the same, it's just a shame, and that's all." http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=5822

I plugged in Supertramp, and I did the same thing in Pandora. Pandora does not give me this song, but this makes sense to me. Thank you, last.fm.

Reminds me of car rides with my dad, when the world seemed endless and full of magic.

Not only did they move from prog rock group to superstar hit makers, they didn't really drop the prog, just pushed it down a bit. All albums from Then There Were Three on had long instrumentals that were tight prog. The Brazillian, Duke's Travels, etc. I understand that folks might like the PG version of Genesis better. I think they are really separate bands to be judged on their own merit. And I like PG's solo career better than his Genesis work, and Genesis better without him. Sometimes divorce works for all parties.

The guitar solo is terrible, way too clean. The live version is way better, the tone is more harsh.

I always liked this track. The one thing I've always admired about Phil Collins is how he was able to transform one of the greatest progressive rock bands into a successful commercial pop band when Peter Gabriel left to pursue his solo career.

Oh, the irony of this song today! LFM has a way of putting appropriate songs in your way.
