Genticorum consists of the three Canadians: Alexandre de Grosbois-Garand (flute, bass, vocal), Yann Falquet (guitar, jew's harp, vocal) and Pascal Gemme (fiddle, feet/stepping, vocal).
The group has its origin from the primarily French-speaking Canadian province of Quebec; their repertoire is mostly Quebecois folk, influenced by Celtic and other world folk traditions.
The group began playing together for fun in 2000, at local parties and friend's houses, and from those humble beginnings grew into international ambassadors of Quebecois folk.
