"Art of Dying" (or "The Art of Dying") is a rock song by British singer-songwriter George Harrison from his seminal 1970 album "All Things Must Pass". The track recounts Harrison's lifelong path of spirituality and religion. He specifically mentions his thoughts on reincarnation and future lives. Harrison had composed the lyrics while still a member of The Beatles, a while before the tune's eventual release.
The song stands out from many of the other "All Things Must Pass" tracks from to its aggressive guitar work and its dark tone, heavily reminiscent of the psychedelic rock and early heavy metal of the period. None other than future Genesis drummer/singer Phil Collins played congas on this song. Collins had previously served an extra in the Beatles movie "A Hard Day's Night".
