Biography
Goodman Brown is a New Jersey based indie pop song-writing collective. Their sound is best characterized by their rich vocals, manic and gritty instrumental interplay, jaunty piano riffs, and infectiously catchy hooks. Having grown up together on a myriad of influences ranging from the Misfits to the Beatles, their eclectic sound truly comes together during their intensely spirited high-energy performances, honed after years of collaboration.
The band finished recording their first full-length "Moon Digby" in the summer of 2010, overseeing mixing at the legendary Cutting Room studios in New York City with producer Anthony "Rocky" Gallo (The Killers, Cymbals Eat Guitars, The Xx). Goodman Brown followed up the release with multiple performances at 2010's CMJ Music Marathon.
Shortly after releasing "Moon Digby", Goodman Brown completed a Christmas themed EP, favoring a more D.I.Y. lo-fi approach, recording most of it in the abandoned childhood home of keyboardist, Alex Russo. This quick succession of releases helped the band fuel a tour to Austin for SXSW, where their fast-paced high-octane performances turned heads.
Since returning from tour, and graduating from college, the group has been hard at work perfecting new material for a forthcoming EP that the band plans to record and produce entirely on their own, focusing largely on the post-college experience. Recording is going to be split between a hundred-acre farm in Hop Bottom, Pennsylvania, and a tiny cabin situated just outside Cooperstown, New York.
Upon completion of the new EP, the band expects to hit the road, planning to spend the majority of 2011 touring.
