Biography
Harm Goslink Kuiper is a Dutch singer/songwriter, based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, who - as a musician - calls himself Goslink. He writes somewhat folky songs with Dutch lyrics and plays them on a remarkable range of unique, self-built instruments.
A graduate of 's-Hertogenbosch Art Academy in The Netherlands, Goslink's musical career started with the release of three very low-key, self produced CDs, followed by a two-year stint as a band member of Rotterdam's El Pino and the Volunteers (2005-2007).
Having quit the band, Goslink decided to focus on writing his own Dutch-language songs and building his own instruments, using - for example - wooden fruit boxes, fish oil cans, driftwood and a salad bowl. These instruments have a distinct 'early 20th century' folk sound and give his songs (inspired by fingerpicking blues and old folk music) a unique character of their own.
Goslink's proper début album, Stil Leven ('Still Life'), was released on Excelsior Recordings in August 2010.
