“Back on Road” is a celebratory anthem about getting back on the path of success—fitting, considering Gucci Mane was in prison a mere 10 days before the release of this song.
The collaboration between Drake and Gucci Mane is interesting, considering Gucci’s past history of dissing Drake. However, the most recent time Gucci dissed Drake was in the fall of 2013. Gucci later apologized on Twitter.
Drake has previously showd Gucci love, notably on “Digital Dash”:

This is the third song Guwop released in the first few days of June, following “First Day Out Tha Feds” and his collaboration with G.O.O.D Music on “Champions.” The song premiered on June 4 during Episode 23 of OVO Sound Radio.
