I don't understand how Anne Rice didn't like this song at the ending of Interview with the Vampire; it's like the perfect epilogue song, and also a far superior cover compared to the original by Rolling Stones.

You really need to listen again to both versions; GNR by far outdid the Rolling Stones original. With that said, Rolling Stones actually wrote and composed the original, so they deserve the credit, but GNR really took the song to the next level. GNR also did a similar and damn good job with Knockin' on Heaven's Door.

anyone who says it's better than the original is a fucking idiot, that much goes without saying; however, it's not nearly as bad as its reputation, either... in 1994, it may have been "the sound of the band breaking up," but nearly 20 years later, for many fans, it's just as much a part of the band's sound as anything else.

Hating The Rolling Stones is pretty ridiculous for anyone who holds a liking for electric guitar music. Be sensible.

I hate the stones, but they did a good job with this song, and this sin't a bad cover, prefer the original. There's a darkwave band who does another great cover of this, but can't think of who is it for the life of me. They did that sarcastic cover of the Little Drummerboy.

despite the controversy around the solo, you can't deny that this song is one amazing cover, everything GN'R touched pre-1999 was pure gold
