Biography

Hard Fast & Loud (HFL) is a hardcore punk band from Huntington Beach, California, formed in the winter of 1989. They released their first 7” E.P. in 1991, and over the course of the next four years they released two full-length albums and three E.P.s. They were also featured on various compilation albums including “Punk Sucks,” which included tracks from Pennywise & Blink 182.

Hard Fast & Loud gained notoriety in Huntington Beach, by playing downtown 4th of July gatherings and backyard keg parties in and around Orange County. As the popularity of HFL grew, they played club shows with then up-and-coming bands such as 311, Sublime, Korn, Guttermouth, Face to Face, Strungout, and Pennywise.

HFL disbanded in 1995.

In 2012, nearly seventeen years after they broke up, the members of HFL decided to get back together and play one show at The Observatory in Santa Ana on June 15th, 2012. Soon after, they began writing new songs.

The current line-up features three original members, Joel Bull on vocals, Jeff Bell on drums, and Pat Hall on guitar. HFL recruited Orange County local Mark Blaster on Lead Guitar, and Tim Arrigo on bass.
