Biography

Hamid Grandi began studying classical guitar at the age of 9 under the guidance of Prof. Antonio Barbieri. When completing his studies he was awarded with a diploma with honors from the Conservatory "G. Verdi "in Milan. Having been part of numerous bands in the underground scene in Milan in the role of musician and producer, he has started playing unplugged versions of popular Italian songs that allowed him to perform in the most famous clubs in the north of Italy.

After this important phase in the role of performer of music of others, he devoted himself to composing his own songs.

Bio

May 2002 - participates in the exhibition of art music at the city of Sermide (Mantova) "Scrivendo Canzoni" (writing songs), winning the prize "Massimo Gorni" for best music.

October 2002 - participated in the competition "Operazione Musica", organized by "Jungle Sound Station" in Milan and was chosen to carry out an EP ("Nonostante Tutto" - V2 Records/ecSony).

April 2003 - performs at "Il Locale" in Rome for the "Musica d'autore" organized by Audiocoop Lazio.

September 2003 - is the winner in the 3rd edition of the Italian songwriter award "Un Avventura" dedicated to Lucio Battisti, held in Molteno (Lecco).

December 2003 - opening act for Rossana Casale's concert at the theater "Cascina Commenda" Segrate (Milano).

September 2004 - opened Enrico Ruggieri's concert at the city park of Molteno (Lecco).

July 2005 - finalist for the prize "Premio Bindi" of Santa Margherita Ligure (Genova).

May 2006 - guest of "Polisuona" in Milan.

Since 2008, several concerts and live performances throughout Italy.

Since 2009 is in an artistic collaboration with David Giandrini who writes for Hamid "canzoni per piccoli e canzoni per grandi", a show theater concert that sees Hamid as a performer in auditoriums, squares and theaters.

Since 2010, writes for young performers including the song "Viene Sera" for the upcoming singer Amelie.

IIn 2012, release of his album "CORDE" with the participation of cellist Alessandro Santaniello. Hamid Grandi now presents an album built on the simple complexity of singer/songwriter music, with love songs covering the sides that love and life bring with it.
