After releasing their first EP the year prior in 1993 called, A Bunch Of Stuff, alongside a split 7" single with Powerdresser the same year, Heavy Vegetable would sign with Headhunter Records and record their first debut album. The Amazing Undersea Adventures of Aqua Kitty and Friends would be released on May 3rd, 1994. Recorded between November 3rd to 14th of 1993; a whole 11 day timespan, Heavy Vegetable would introduce the underground to their quirky, playful, math rock tendencies. This debut is most notably carries a more post-hardcore influence that completely contrasts their final, and sophomore album, Frisbie. Which fit into the style of indie pop. Despite that, this album would clearly have an influence to the math pop scene during the mid-90's.
A Bunch Of Stuff has the track, "Doesn't Mean Shit". A track that would end up on this album but; not in the more rock oriented sound, as this version of the song was only acoustic.
