Héctor Murrieta Flores was born in Mexico City. He started his career as a classical guitarist at the "Ollin Yolliztli" conservatory, under the guidance of Antonio López Palacios, and afterwards at the Escuela Nacional de Música, U.N.A.M, with Juan Carlos Laguna. He has also taken classes under some of the most prominent classical guitarists of our time, like Gonzalo Salazar, Ignacio Rodes, David Tanenbaum, David Leisner, Manuel Barrueco, Dale Kavanagh, Pavel Steidl and the L.A.
