Hot Snakes, RFTC, Drive Like Jehu - all of it, got me through more than a few rough patches. What a loss.

This really hurts, the Hot Snakes gig I went to was one of the best I've ever seen. RIP Rick

I think this is more of a rebirth. They have 2 more albums lined up and much more touring to do.

So good to have them back. Judging by the new track, it's like they've never left.

I love Suicide Invoice, one of the only albums I have on both vinyl and CD. The CD was on pretty much permanent repeat in my car from 2002-2004.

nonoy, thanks for "do not resuscitate", I didn't even know about this! Time to add it amongst the small pile of rare hot snakes songs like u.s. mint, time to escape, lurkers lurkers, rock n roll will never die, and their bullet train to vegas cover.

Best band. 'Suicide Invoice' is my most listened to album ever (aside from perhaps Pink Flag, Miles Goes to College, or Goat). Every time I listen I am brought back to the school bus ride in 2002 when the only CD's I owned were it, Yank Crime, and McLusky Do Dallas, so I listened to it every day. Ah, simpler times .... my love for this band knows no end, their mix of Wipers riffing and energy, with Michael Yonkers Band's sense of structure and melody, with a slight pinch of Suicide's nihilism (and the use of minimal synth, which is actually pretty prominent on Hot Snakes' albums but you have to listen closely to hear it on a lot of songs; I remember listening to LAX 5000 times before I noticed -- only on really good headphones -- that a synth plays the exact same notes as the guitar riff in time with it). Just amazing.

http://newalbumreleases.net/42390/hot-snakes-do-not-resuscitate-2011/ For all you that were waiting forever to hear, "Do Not Resuscitate", their last song recorded as a band. Backed with the awesome Government Issue cover, "Time to Escape," originally released on the Tony Hawk video game.

I hope they keep on playing shows, 'cause they're playing my hometown and I can't even go because I'm not old enough what the fuck :(
