I Set My Friends On Fire are a post-hardcore group with electronic influences formed in Miami, Florida in 2007. The band's original lineup consisted of Matt Mehana and Nabil Moo. Chris Lent joined the band in 2009 and is their current drummer and studio guitarist. Their touring lead and rhythm guitarists are Andrew Tapley and Joe Nelson, respectively.

I Set My Friends On Fire plays an style of which blends elements from other genres including , and . The vocal styles include screamed, clean, and auto-tuned vocals, and synth and sequencers are used.

They garnered plenty attention from their debut single, a rendition of "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" (their version being "Crank That"), which was originally posted to their MySpace page. The band released a self-titled EP before releasing their debut album, You Can't Spell Slaughter Without Laughter, via Epitaph on October 7, 2008.

I Set My Friends On Fire began recording and writing their second album in early 2010. They performed at The Bamboozle on May 1, 2010, and finished up the album in June. The first single, "Excite Dyke," was released digitally on June 15, 2010, as part of an Epitaph compilation CD titled New Noise Vol. 1. The band played on the Scream It Like You Mean It 2010 tour with Silverstein, Emery, We Came As Romans, Dance Gavin Dance, Sky Eats Airplane, Ivoryline, and Close to Home, and it was announced on this tour that Nabil Moo had left the band. Blake Steiner, guitarist of From First to Last, played for ISMFOF for the rest of the tour.

In support of their then upcoming new album Astral Rejection, the band joined the Artery Foundation Across the Nation tour and is playing all of Warped Tour 2011. They will also be touring with A Skylit Drive on their European Identity on Fire tour in September and October. Astral Rejection was released June 21, 2011, and a music video for "It Comes Naturally" was released on YouTube on July 18. The video was directed by Nicholas Lent and Nabil Moo.
