Ikebana is a japanese floral art.
There are three groups with this name:
1) Ikebana is builting up since the end of 2003 a musical mix of urban mood melancoly and dreams of distant landscapes. Ikebana shaped its identity diving into Mogwai, Cat Power, Sigur Ros, Sonic Youth, Interpol, Weezer or Sleater-Kinney universes. Ikebana shakes 90's alternative roots with the admiration for sensitive harmonies. Ikebana self-recorded a first demo during winter 04/05.
2) Ikebana is a Japanese shoegazer, ambient band featuring MoOog Yamamoto from Buffalo Daughter, Maki from Japanese shoegazer band, Incense and DJ Kodomo. They released an album "From Dusk Till Dusk" on Akichi Records (www.akichirecords.com) in May of 2010.
3) Ikebana is a Polish three-piece band whose music finds itself located somewhere across nu-jazz, post-rock, and avant-pop. They released a self-titled EP in Oct 2012. Downloadable for free at: http://ikebanana.bandcamp.com/album/ikebana-ep
