i have one of the drum machines she uses- the HR 16B - i recognized it right away when i heard it. for me, it's been a really frustrating thing to use, for a couple reasons, so hearing her songs with it, sounding very unhindered, and even uninhibited, is really nice!

can we vote for the good picture of Ikue people? (i.e. the colour one, and not the black-and-white one of her with the laptop which makes her look like some kind of gremlin)

I wrote a review of the "Death Ambient" album "Drunken Forest" on my blog. That's Ikue's band with Kato Hideki and Fred Frith. You can read it here: http://jameslebowski.blogspot.com/

Ikue is an amazing artist. She's also played at ISSUE Project Room several times. Check us out on last.fm and at issueprojectroom.org !

Love Ikue Mori. This woman deserves a lot more recognition than she gets... there's feeling and structure in her work that's missing from so much avant garde.

one of my biggest influences!! saw ikue at a small club in NYC with about 10 people in attendance, once of which was John Zorn. i remember asking him if he ever planned on writing any works for voice, and he replied how he didn't think so, that it was so difficult to write music for such an original form of expression...

Ikue Mori is my hero! Kaleidoscopic sounds from the master of drum machine manipulations.
