Biography

Electrosmog is one word we use in order to describe the sudatory music with which the illeist collective takes away the breath of its audiences. And it doesn’t come as a surprise that the trio’s ideal environment is the energetic-flashlight atmosphere of a club. On stage, the illeists evaporate massive bass sounds and pumping beats. The musical core of the collective - vocals, electronics, bass and drums – is thereby regularly complemented by special guests, giving every performance an unexpected momentum.

The music the illeist collective produces can be described as an electro-organic mix reminiscent of bands such as Soulwax, Digitalism or Young Gods. Together with the lights and video installations by Pablo Weber the sound fuses to a fascinating multi-layered performance on stage. Ever since the highly acclaimed debut of the illeist collective (Electrees, 2008), the band has shown its impressive live qualities on numerous stages; in Switzerland and abroad.

At the moment, the illeist collective is working on new songs to be released in 2011. The first single thereof is called “Animals” and has been released on 12th March 2010 (DRS Virus, DRS 3, video of the week at SF mystage and mx3). The song can also be found on the CD-Compilation “Best of Demotape Clinic 2010” (M4Music). In addition, Roca Records released a 12" Remix Vinyl in England containing 4 different versions of the song "Every Time" featuring NineLives The Cat (NY). The LP reached 20 in the “Cool Cuts Charts” (Music Week, 29.04.10) and 30 in the Buzz Chart (DMC Charts, 15.05.2010).
