Insted is a producer and now a solo artist working out of silver lake. This album was recorded in December of 2007 in Echo Park in insted's bedroom with a Roland D-20 providing a majority of the sounds. Insted is Zak Mering who is also half of the electronic group "the philippians". On the Gradient album, Taylor Nudo plays and writes all guitar parts. All songs written, produced and recorded by : Zak Mering. This is Insted's first album of this style. A lyric book for this album was also created.
