Instiga is rock. It is as simple as that. That's how Christian Camilo (voice & guitar), Gabriel Duarte (bass), Heitor Pellegrina (guitar) and Pedro Leite (drums) rather define the group. But you can also say that Instiga is a kind of ride to Barão Geraldo, the district of Campinas (São Paulo) from where the quartet first surfaced. In-between parties, abandoned dreams, cyborgs and internal jokes about Harrison Ford, they bet on acessible melodies fueled with vigor and lirism.
Listening to one of the band's albums is getting that feeling of belonging to their universe, to their psychodelic sound that flawlessly flirts with folk, MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), british pop and, sometimes, even punk's roughness. Instiga's irreverence and sweetness is nothing planned, it happens naturaly. Their sound is always being constructed, and as the band's name suggests, it is really "instigating".
So, Campina's boys present their new work: MENINO CANTA MENINA (which means BOY SINGS GIRL), the band's awaited second album, after seven years on the road. The 12 new tracks have been produced, arranged and composed by the group.
