Iron Butterfly > Iron Maiden. Yeah, I know apples & oranges with those bands. But whenever I think of a band with Iron in their name, I think of Iron Butterfly first.

The last year or so I started playing more of their records and they got some great stuff, enjoying the deep cuts :)

When you listen to "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" you have to listen to the entire, long version. Not the single!

I have played the entire, long version on a jukebox at a bar I used to frequent. That was quite something and everyone there had no problem with it.

Many super songs --- forget In-A-Gadda-Damned-Vita.... they are so much more than that one song!

This band is actually incredibly underrated. So many great songs, yet people only listen to In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida

Incredibly wonderful music. Wow, I'm so surprised I didn't get into these guys years ago.

Great underrated band. They are very early heavy metal - yet I know some that will argue otherwise. Really depends on which of their songs you listen too - not all of them are early heavy metal nor proto-metal but a amount of their music falls into one of the two categories (heavy metal or proto-metal).

Their first three albums really are amongst the best psychedelic albums ever... the next three ones aren't anywhere near that level unfortunately. There are some progressive gems in "Sun and steel" though.

I was aware of them for years, but never got around to listening to them. It's quite something that I got into them this year. A super fun band!

вторичная хипповая самодеятельность, но крепкие песни есть, общего снисходительного ощущения к этой группе не понимаю.
