Absolutely! It's becoming my absolute favourite Maiden album (well, this and Somewhere In Time). They're both fun, powerful, catchy and full of unforgettable songs.

Не люблю Мэйденов с Дикинсоном, но могу сказать что это самый сбалансированный их альбом. Складывается впечатление, что группы которые начали играть прог-металл в 90х, по мимо Eloy и Rush опирались на этот альбом.

Always been my favourite album. Apart from a couple of tracks (which are still good) it's packed with masterpiece songs, especially Infinite Dreams. I liked the tasteful mix of the guitars & synths, something which I'm glad they learned to use better after Somewhere In Time. Which is also a great album of course. It's hard to explain, the planets just seemed to be aligned for this album, they seemed to dig deeper and pulled out some genuinely great layered songs. As much as I love songs like Number of The Beast and The Trooper, I think that maybe dare I say it songs like Moonchild and Infinite Dreams have a little more substance to them? Don't know, either way Maiden are Maiden. Just sums it up nicely :)

This was where they lost it, IMO. The departure of Adrian Smith was a big blow and they fell in love with synths and technicality and became sterile and bloodless. It just doesn't have the vitality and for lack of a better term balls that the previous stuff had; they were already trending in that direction and came perilously close to crossing that line on Somewhere in Time but that record ended up being a masterpiece. This one just leaves me cold, despite having some strong moments ("The Clairvoyant" and "The Evil That Men Do," notably).

What do you mean, Smith didn't leave until after this record was released, he played on the album and even contributed to several songs. And actually, the poppy, more smooth direction they took on SIT and this album, was Smith's thing, SIT was the Smith album. And all aside, I just can't imagine any Maiden fan being indifferent to absolute Maiden royalty like Infinite Dreams, the title track and hell, every other track on here except maybe Can I Play...

I don't remember what exactly I was thinking/talking about when I made that comment, but next time I listen to this record I will do so with your observations in mind. Thanks!

Their last great album. They went downhill after Adrian departed - and still haven't recovered, music-wise, even after his return.

Totally disagree. AMOLAD and Frontier are superb records and among my all time favourites. Still, Seventh Son is unmatched.

Frontier has its fair share of good moments, but their best release since '88 would be Brave New World, IMHO. I appreciate your respectful disagreement, unfortunately that's something rare these days.
