Four years after the release of the original song, JID finally brought “Bruuuh” to streaming services in the form of a remix that features Denzel Curry.

The new version includes JID’s original contributions alongside a new verse from Denzel. JID confirmed that he re-recorded his contributions to the song, and there are some slight revisions to the song’s production.

JID first previewed Denzel’s verse on Instagram Live on August 18, 2019. They cooperatively furthered the anticipation for the song on March 1, 2020, following Denzel and JID’s duel at the former’s Zeltron World Wide event. They both hinted at the remix’s imminent release on Instagram and Twitter, respectively.

The song eventually released in early February 2021, with an announcement just a few hours prior.

The artwork was made by Fred Lozano, JID and Spillage Village’s primary designer who also made the artwork for the original version of “Bruuuh.”

The new artwork is a reinvention of the original, now including new colors and including wording designating the song’s new version.

Denzel and JID first collaborated on Denzel’s July 2018 track, “SIRENS | Z1RENZ.” The two maintained a friendly relationship since that song’s release.

On February 29, 2020, they went head-to-head in Denzel’s Zeltron World Wide rap battle event with Red Bull.
