I love the album, but I am definitely not happy with the extreme energy dip in the second half. It almost feels like a broken promise after the first seven songs.

I didn't expect him to revisit his old sound, he had every incentive not to but good lord I'm glad he made this.

The first half is absolutely amazing. The second fumbles a bit I think, OR it’s a grower. I think I need to dig a bit deeper to get the intricacies of Night Sky and If You Can Hear Me. I Want You To Know and Fire the Editor are showing something upon my third/fourth listen, and I kinda like Playing Robots Into Heaven.

More of this please. James Blake just released the most interesting album, to these ears at least, since his debut in 2011.

After 6 years in the beige pop wilderness, James is back! So glad he made this record.

It’s really good but I think Assume Form is still pretty peak, this one is definitely a return to his origins in a lot of ways
