We are supposed to be a freedom lovin' Country strongly opposed to Communism, yet we have houses full of Chines goods...it's every man for himself now, which will ultimately lead to us collapsing in on ourselves, blaming our neighbors all along the way...it's not liberal vs. conservative

Actually, the sub-prime lending was fueled by Barney Frank and his dem buddies who wanted loans given to people who couldn't afford them. And this dim witted crap does grind on and on. Get a freakin' job and support your family. Soup line America is created by liberal policies.

As this track grinds on and on and on and truth piles up on truth, and the desperation and anger mounts into rage, one reaction is 'how in feck can you not see it?' give the anti-liberal neo-con reaction to it. Amazing song, knocked me sideways the first time I heard it, just amazing. And this came out some time before all that sub-prime lending debacle and the bank-fuelled crap that screwed us all. Closest thing 'country' music has got to Lou Reed, vocally. For a totally different take on the powerful emotion 'country' music can evoke try and get to hear 'Broken Fingers' by Sam Baker, a beautiful true song

This is the best protest lyric I've heard since Phil Ochs, Harry Chapin and Steve Earle. Absolutely brilliantly written, with truly elegant couplets and a deep, deep feeling.
