What the hell happened to this guy? His latest album and EP include the most generic and bland pop rock garbage he has ever written. He went from King of Clubs to this?

Thanks, I also got the newsletter, but I was looking forward to something new. I'm not into the live stuff (unless I'm actually there).

New album is pretty cool and easy to listen, what makes it a not really ambitious album but even then a good listening.

Devolver is one of those albums I find something new in every listen, perfect ending too. Wish more people knew about this record.

Wow, "Devolver" took me by surprise! "Muscle Memory" had a nearly inaudible heavy part and a boring softer one, but this new album is a total banger! A more balanced sound, this time around, I'm enjoying it very much! Still not Reuben, though.

Actually, I think Lenman should be spoken about in the same way as Blake or Byron in 200 years or so. His way with words is insane.

Both discs rule, some of the heavy parts are honestly some of the greatest riffs I've heard recently and the some of the softer parts are... happy, even? That said, a Reuben reunion would, of course, be the best news in the world right now. I'm not even sure that's hyperbole.

So this is grown to be one of my favourite of the year. Lenman can do no wrong. The second disc is utterly gorgeous.

jelgerw: "Not too fond of the heavy side of the disc. What I liked about the heaviness in Reuben is that it came in doses, well balanced. You had the poppy verse and then the heavy chorus. The poppy song and then: BAM. Return of the Jedi. Epic track, BAM heavy ending (Short History of Nearly Everything). By having no balance, the heaviness weirdly enough loses its punch, its worth. But still glad to hear Jamie make music again, did not see that happening at all these past few years." My thoughts exactly, I'm so glad he's back, but it made me realise that Reuben had a way of doing things that can't be replicated. Hopefully Jim's album is the first step towards a Reuben reunion.
