Sunny LA pool party vibe, fits the 7-7-90 outdoot Mt Baldy performance. This is the embodiment of 90s "there's just a vibe that goes with the record a vibe that me and my girl together I guess came up with actually can't take credit for cuz it's a Los Angeles vibe it's white kids mixed in with Mexican kids mixed in with black kids The whole title 'Ritual De Lo Habitual' is just about people's rituals" ~Perry Farrell [Legends on Film, Rockthology Disc 1] I love you JA!

I seriously don't get the appeal of this album. it sounds so... average. like, nothing makes seem any different from stock metal music other than maybe the album artwork, which is pretty standard offensive.

Nothing's Shocking is a fantastic record as well, but I've always preferred Ritual de lo habitual. The songs tend to have better hooks and catchier melodies in addition to rocking harder and pushing the envelope more (particularly thinking of "Three Days" -> "Classic Girl"). Just a matter of preference though, really; both albums are essential for fans of any type of Rock music. Haven't thought much of their post-reunion material; they bowed out at the peak of their powers but I guess I can't fault them for cashing in several years later on the "Alternative Rock" boom they helped to create.

I actually prefer the black and white cover for this album....... It's what I owned, and what I chose when I had to buy it again

Been Caught Stealing is so high up on the list of number of plays, and yet it's probably my least fav. JA tune. For me, Three Days is probably the closest a "rock" song has ever come to being perfect.

I'm gonna be the first (and perhaps last) to say that this is better than Nothing's Shocking.

GregCano got it in one. Personally, the whole second half of this album is where it is at ("Three Days" through "Classic Girl"; 4 songs in total) for me. This album and Nothings Shocking were the only 2 Jane's albums I ever owned and will ever own. Shoot me if a Porno for Pyros song comes on...

Yep, not as important and great to me as Nothing's Shocking ...but...hell...Three Days..I can't even express my feelings toward this song with words. Amazing album too. it's not the same with Strays, and even if I love it, they've just released 2 albums and 1 (GREAT) live album to me, Strays is good but it's not Jane's Addiction to me.

It's not as good as Nothing's Shocking but if that one is 100 % good then this is 99 % good! It's so nice to relax to their music & that's probably why I love it... You can relax, bang your head, just party or whatever to their songs... Too sad they couldn't be together for a longer time both of the periods they were active (didn't count the '97 tour)...
