Side A has to be one of the best pieces of music ever pressed onto a record alone

H.G. Wells meets disco and progressive rock, with awesome narration by Richard Burton and vocal cameos from Justin Hayward, David Essex, Chris Thompson, Julie Covington and Phil Lynott. It's actually pretty great.

One of the best albums...ever. Richard Burton the ultimate narrator. Still gives me goosebumps listening to the CD. Even my 15 year old daughter thinks it's scary...hehe. I used to have the vinyl. I loved it. I lend it to someone and never got it back. So now I have to do with the CD. Can't believe it's 30 years old.

My favourite album ever, I have the original Vinyl, cassette, MiniDisc, about 8 different versions on CD (all remasters and original) all the remixes, the games on PC and PlayStation, the live DVD... you name it ive most likely got it lol, loved it since I was a kid and it always has a special place in my heart, Jeff Wayne really created the most amazing album ever with this one, and to him I extend a very special thank you from a loyal and obsessive fan, thanks Jeff! Here to the next 30 Years of WOTW! UUUUUULLLLLLAAAAA

I cannot believe this album is 30 years old. I have an original copy on vinyl which I refuse to play to preserve its quality. I play this album on CD now and truly believe it is the best album in my collection. The musical version comes to the UK again in 2009. You cannot listen to this album without feeling emotional.
