Biography
Jens Lysdal was born in Sweden by danish parents. Following a year in New Orleans - where he went to school - the family moved to Denmark.
He is one of Denmarks best reviewed singers, composers, and guitarists and a triple award-winning producer.
His style is often subtle and poetic, but at the same time with an unmistakable sharpness in both playing and writing.
His songs are slow-release works of craft and catharsis that become treasured, lifetime companions for their listeners, and both his newer and older albums are frequently played on air and featured in numerous danish and international films.
What makes him stand out is also that he is both a very personal singer and songwriter, and at the same time a high level guitarist (before going solo he worked as a sideman for the cream of danish artists). That makes his music and concerts unique - the focus shifting between the songs and his guitar-playing, reinforcing each other.
