Biography

Jeremy began recording and performing in the late ‘90s, at first using the unpronounceable moniker Tetrphnm playing gigs with the Clan Analogue collective, but released his much loved debut,Sentimental Dance Music For Couples in 2000 under his own name on respected US electronic label Plug Research.
Over time he gradually moved away from a beats-based, dancefloor style towards something richer, layered and more personal.
He says of himself: “faux jazz, kitsch - I like to see beauty in junk. I like to think of my music as a music of contrasts and contradictions, clapped out technology, contemporary concepts in music, machine made, hand crafted, easy listening, intense, emotionally engaging, minimalist and sentimentally charming.”

After releasing Music For Retirement Villages, Dower took a path similar to Chapter head Guy Blackman, who moved to Tokyo for 18 months towards the end of 2002. Jeremy also ended up in Tokyo in early 2003, and developed something of a local fanbase there, releasing his second album Music For The Young & The Restless on Tokyo label Bit Of Heaven. He has recently returned to Melbourne and is concentrating on his other career as an animator for computer games.
